The Mountcharles community and Donegal Bay cyclists gathered in force on Saturday to welcome home their Paralympic hero, Katie-George Dunlevy.
Adorned with their hard-earned Paris Paralympic medals, Katie-George and her tandem pilot Linda Kelly were greeted with many congratulations in the home village of Katie-George’s father, John.
Katie-George took home a superb Paralympic Gold in the Women’s Time Trial B road race, as well as two Silver medals in the Individual Pursuit B (with pilot Eve McCrystal) and Road Race B.
Weeks later, Katie-George and Linda continued their winning streak at the World Championships in Zurich, where they clinched two more gold medals in the Time Trial B and Road Race B events.
The celebratory atmosphere was greatly enhanced by the St. Peter’s School Reunion Band and the Donegal Bay Cycling Club.
